FA CUP Semi-Final Preview

Previews - Arsenal vs. Manchester city & Chelsea vs. Manchester United.

Arsenal Vs. Manchester City & Chelsea vs. Manchester United will lock horns in the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday and Sunday respectively with each determined to book their spot in the showpiece final at the gigantic Wembley Stadium.

Arsenal recorded a crucial  2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday night and will have to rely on other teams dropping points if they are to secure a spot in the Europa League for the 2020-21 campaign.

Manchester City recorded a 2-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth with Chelsea having to rely on an Olivier Giroud header to defeat Norwich City and Manchester United with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace to further bolster their quest to qualify for the UEFA Champions league next season.

Arsenal Head Coach, speaking to Press Men ahead of their tie against his former employees:
Arteta on Man City:
"I know their strengths, but even like that, sometimes it is very difficult to stop them. I want to focus on what we want to do. If I worry too much about them, it's not the message that I want to send to the players. It's what we are going to do."

Arsenal will again be without the services of Bernd Leno, Gabriel Martinelli, Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers through injury, while Nketiah will serve the final game of his three-match suspension.

As for City, Sergio Aguero remains on the sidelines following knee surgery, and Kevin De Bruyne will likely start after being left of their tie against Bournemouth on Wednesday.

For Chelsea, Frank Lampard will have a fully fit squad after  five-day rest before the play Manchester United on Sunday.  N'golo Kante will be unavailable after his injury.

Lampard, speaking on United'n ability to win penalties:  "They [Chelsea defenders] have to be careful because when players of such high quality and speed as the United forwards travel quickly you have to move your feet and not dive in."
"You understand the qualities of the opposition with players like that, and Fernandes because he’s very clever in his movement. We saw that at Aston Villa to make something feel like a penalty where maybe it even isn’t."

Manchester United will hope to make it four victories over Chelsea this season in all competition having won them Home and Away in the Premier League and knocked them out of the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal vs. Manchester City - 19:45 (GMT+1) 18th July, 2020.
